The German national team triumphed in Group A of Euro 2024 and is now gearing up for the Round of 16 match against Denmark (Saturday 20:00). One of the stars of the host team is Leroy Sané, who has a tattoo on his back that he deeply regrets.

The German national team is one of the favourites to win Euro 2024. Germany secured first place in Group A. On Saturday evening (20:00), Denmark will be their opponent in the quarter-finals.

One of the stars of our Western neighbours is Leroy Sané, who has been playing for Bayern Munich for several years.

Since joining the team in 2020, he has scored 29 goals in 123 Bundesliga appearances. Previously, he spent four years at Manchester City, winning two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, and three EFL Cups.

One of Sané's most memorable moments was scoring in the 5-3 victory in the Champions League match against Monaco, although "The Citizens" ultimately lost in the overall tie. The German star then got a commemorative tattoo on his back, which he now deeply regrets.

I was young. Today I would make a different decision - emphasised Sané in an interview with German media.

Germany's squad problems

It is worth mentioning that Julian Nagelsmann will not be able to use Jonathan Tah in the clash against Denmark. He is suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards. Antonio Rüdiger's participation is also doubtful, as he is dealing with a hamstring injury. The host's manager still has three centre-backs available: Nico Schlotterbeck, Waldemar Anton, and Robin Koch.

Journalist Andreas Moeller suggests that one of Borussia Dortmund's central defenders should be partnered by a defensive midfielder that Nagelsmann could drop into the backline. This could create a new role for Toni Kroos or Robert Andrich. Germany can also utilise Emre Can, who has been moved to the centre-back position multiple times in his career.
