The most recent public opinion poll conducted in Germany indicates concerning results. A substantial majority of the country's citizens express fears regarding the potential expansion of the armed conflict in Ukraine into NATO's territory. Moreover, every other person surveyed holds the belief that the integration of Ukrainian refugees into German society has not been successful.

The study, carried out by the Insa Institute for the newspaper 'Bild am Sonntag', reveals that a total of 61 percent of German citizens are fearful of the war in Ukraine extending into Western countries. Surprisingly, only 31 percent of respondents consider the likelihood of such a scenario to be low.

Unsuccessful integration

The survey also questioned the circumstances surrounding Ukrainian refugees in Germany who arrived as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine two years ago. A mere 28 percent of respondents perceive that the integration of these individuals has been successful. In contrast, a significant majority of 51 percent deem it to be unsuccessful.

Furthermore, almost half of the population (49 percent) believe that refugees receive excessive support in Germany. Only 5 percent of those surveyed believe that aid for Ukrainians should be increased. Simultaneously, over one-third of respondents (35 percent) consider the current support level to be adequate.
