Justice Minister Marco Buschmann sounded the alarm after the arrest of two of Putin's agents in Bavaria, according to the German newspaper "Bild". The federal government swung into action upon discovering that two Russians had spied on US bases and plotted attacks on military transport routes in Germany.

"Putin targets Germany," "Dramatic warning against the 'strategy of terror' of the Russian dictator," the headlines of "Bild" screamed, quoting the Federal Minister of Justice. He made these remarks following the detention of two Russians suspected of espionage and planning an attack.

In a discussion with media from across the Oder, Marco Buschmann emphasized that the arrests had a "huge symbolic significance". He demonstrated the strength of German democracy and the rule of law. The head of the Ministry of Justice highlighted that "we are doing everything within our power to ensure Putin's strategy of terrorism does not succeed."

The Minister calls the Russian ambassador on the carpet

Relations between Berlin and Moscow have grown increasingly tense. Buschmann raises the alarm, and Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock summons the Russian ambassador in Berlin to the carpet, "Bild" reports.

German authorities arrested 39-year-old Dieter S. (a citizen of Russia and Germany) and 37-year-old Alexander J. (an agent of Russian intelligence, also holding dual citizenship). Investigations reveal that since October 2023, S. had been coordinating sabotage activities in Germany with contacts from Russian special services. J. was expected to join him by March this year at the latest. It's reported that they both conducted surveillance on US bases and orchestrated plans to attack military transportation routes through arson and explosions. Their objective was to interfere with support flowing from Germany to Ukraine.

Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser declared on Thursday, "We will continue to offer Ukraine significant support. We will not be intimidated."
