General Valeriy Zaluzhny steps down as Ukraine's military chief, anticipates strategy shift
"Our battle is ongoing and fluid, changing daily. Our objectives for 2022 will be different from those in 2024. For this reason, we all must be ready to adjust and adapt to new realities. We must unite in our efforts to achieve victory," wrote General Zaluzhny.

He also noted that during his meeting with President Zelensky, which he described as "significant and serious," decisions were made about adjusting the approach and strategy of combat. However, he did not disclose specific details on this.
"I honour all who have given their lives for Ukraine"
General Zaluzhny expressed gratitude to everyone associated with him. "I am indebted to the General Staff, the Ministry of Defence, and the President of Ukraine. I take pride in every Armed Forces of Ukraine member who is defending our children's future. All soldiers, non-commissioned officers, and officers have my respect. I salute all those who have given their lives for Ukraine and freedom. We remember them and will seek justice for their death. I am convinced that Ukrainians will undoubtedly prevail," wrote Zaluzhny.
In recent days, Ukrainian and international media have speculated about a possible dismissal of General Zaluzhny.
On Thursday, President Zelensky confirmed these assertions, announcing that the new supreme commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is now General Oleksandr Syrsky.
