Over 20 explosions occurred in the Crimea, which is under Russian control, early Sunday morning, as reported by Censor.Net. A refinery is ablaze near Hwardijśke, roughly 22 kilometres north of Simferopol. "Evacuation of nearby residents is underway," notes RBK-Ukraine. This marks another assault on the occupied peninsula in recent hours.

This assault on the occupied peninsula is the second in a few hours. On Saturday evening, Ukraine launched a significant missile strike on the occupied Sevastopol.

One person was killed and four were injured. According to OSINTtechnical, at least three Ukrainian missiles struck the main communication centre of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

Attack on a Crimea oil depot

The subsequent attack happened around 3 am British Time. At that moment, the press service of the Crimean Bridge reported that the crossing had been shut down. Shortly thereafter, the Crimean Department of Transport announced that "passenger maritime transport had been temporarily halted".

The "Crimean Wind" channel reported that drones attacked the oil depot in Hwardijśke in the Simferopol region on the occupied Crimea.

The authorities initiated the evacuation of nearby residents, as reported by the RBK-Ukraine portal.

The attack on the oil depot coincided with a massive Russian air strike on Ukraine. The Russians launched dozens of missiles from 14 Tu-95 strategic bombers. Around 20 missiles targeted the Lviv region. Air defence intercepted 10 missiles over Kyiv.

In response to the attack, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces reported the mobilisation of Polish and allied aircraft.
