The 2024 flood is affecting Europe. Italians are among those fighting the aftermath of the disaster, and France has now joined the list of countries hit by the great waters. A violent storm caused a flash flood in Cannes.

On Monday morning, a violent storm that passed over the French Riviera caused a flash flood in Cannes. Videos posted online show streets turning into raging rivers.

The water flowed with such great force that its current swept away cars.

Fortunately, there are no reports of casualties, although videos published online also show people struggling with the natural disaster.

In 2015, as a result of a flash flood on the French Riviera, at least 19 people died, and tens of thousands were left without power – Reuters reminds.

Authorities did not issue a warning?

In an interview with BFM TV, the mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard, announced that he would demand explanations from the national authorities. The Cannes administration reportedly received a warning about the approaching storm just an hour before hell broke loose on the city's streets.

The French meteorological agency predicts that this is not the end of the heavy rains in southern France, and another strong storm could hit Cannes later in the afternoon.
