President Alexander Stubb emphasised that "Vladimir Putin should not be persuaded to engage in peace talks, but should be compelled to do so."

- Putin only comprehends tough, harsh language, which (the U.S. President - ed.) Donald Trump is presently using - the politician asserted.

Stubb expressed moderate optimism regarding Donald Trump's plans for a speedy resolution to the conflict. In his view, there is no danger of peace talks occurring without Ukraine's participation.

The politician remarked that European countries should "in some way" be involved in peace talks, as he added - "The future security architecture of the continent is being determined."
