On Saturday, an explosion occurred, followed by flames, right in front of Buckingham Palace. The fire department was quick to respond.
An electric rickshaw, commonly used for transporting tourists, was the source of the explosion, catching fire almost immediately.
The incident took place around 12:40 PM London time (7:40 AM Eastern Time, 1:40 PM Polish Time).
Videos quickly flooded social media, showing clouds of smoke and the burning vehicle before the fire was swiftly put out. Traffic was halted to allow emergency services to manage the situation.
The London Police have since released a statement regarding the incident, confirming that there were no casualties or injuries. It appears the fire was an accident, likely caused by a malfunction in the vehicle.
