Cleaning a baking tray is not an easy task. We often use a "scouring pad," but it's quite risky - it can easily scratch the surface, leading to faster wear and damage. On the other hand, chemical products from the shop are expensive and often ineffective. Fortunately, there are some home methods you can try.

Cleaning a baking tray - home methods

How to clean a baking tray? There is a very simple way to get rid of dirt and burnt residue. All you need is vinegar and cream of tartar (E336), a substance also found in baking powder, which is readily available online.

Mix both ingredients into a thick paste. Spread it over the baking tray you want to clean and wait for the paste to solidify. Afterwards, thoroughly wash the surface with a sponge soaked in warm water and rinse the tray.

Another effective method for cleaning a baking tray is using baking soda and salt. How to do it? First, rinse the tray with water and dry it, then sprinkle it with baking soda and salt. Next, place it in the oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius for half an hour. This will dissolve even the most stubborn dirt. Finally, once the tray has cooled, just wash it using washing-up liquid.

You can also make a paste with baking soda and a dissolved dishwasher tablet. Just rub it onto a slightly warm oven surface and leave it for at least 30 minutes. Finally, wipe the tray with a microfibre cloth.
