Winter storm in the USA. Disruptions at airports
The Associated Press reports that adverse weather is already affecting air travel in the New York area. Nearly 130 flights have been cancelled, and many more are delayed. Travellers in Washington and Boston are also experiencing disruptions.
New York Mayor Eric Adams has urged residents to use public transport to alleviate pressure on snow removal services. He has also recommended helping neighbours who might struggle with heating or frozen pipes.
Roads will remain treacherous through Monday morning, particularly along the I-95 highway corridor from Washington to New York. Residents are advised to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary journeys.
