Duchess Kate, after many weeks, cut through speculation and announced that she was diagnosed with cancer. She is currently in the early stages of treatment. In the recording, she admitted that this news was a "huge shock" for her. She also spoke about "an extremely difficult few months".

Duchess Kate emphasizes that "she feels good". Kensington Palace posted a video on social media in which the duchess admitted that in January, she underwent abdominal surgery. It was not yet known then that she had cancer.

The tests conducted after the surgery revealed the presence of cancer - the duchess admitted.

She did not add what type of cancer it was. However, she described how her family dealt with the new situation they all found themselves in.

Of course, this news was a huge shock. William and I did everything in our power to work through it and face it with our closest ones, for the sake of our family - said Kate.

The Duchess needed time

Kate admitted that she needed time to recover from the surgery and undergo cancer treatment.

Most importantly, we needed time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in the most appropriate way for them, and to assure them that everything would be alright - stressed the duchess.

Kate said that fulfilling her duties always brought her joy, and she will return to them as soon as she can.

I hope you understand that as a family, we now need time, space, and privacy - she said.
