The Duchess was forced to share this information because there was a serious risk that details about her health condition could be leaked by the media.

It all started when an unknown person contacted Kensington Palace, the official residence of the Duke and Duchess of Wales. This person had detailed information about the Duchess's diagnosis, which forced her to decide to reveal her health status to the British public.

Interestingly - note the British media - both the form of the statement and the fact that it was issued personally by the Duchess in the form of a video recording was unprecedented. Usually, the royal family communicates with the media through their press spokespeople.

Details of Duchess Kate's illness. Someone tried to hack into her medical records

As the British newspaper "Daily Mail" emphasizes, it is unclear where this information leaked. It's possible that the source of the leak was the clinic where the Duchess underwent abdominal surgery in January this year. No official health updates have been released since then.

As it turned out, someone tried to hack into the Duchess's medical records while she was recovering from surgery. Hospital management conducted an internal investigation into this matter.

After Duchess Catherine's statement was issued, there was speculation that it was meant to prepare the British public for her decision not to participate in the Easter ceremonies in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
