The event is organised with the support of The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales.
Kensington Palace, in a statement, emphasised that "the ceremony will be an opportunity to reflect on the importance of love and empathy". It aims to appreciate people from the United Kingdom who have shown kindness and support to others.
"This year, Her Royal Highness wanted to celebrate the many people supporting those in need – individuals who have inspired, counselled, comforted, and above all else shown that love is the greatest gift we can receive," the statement reads. This is one of the first official events she will participate in after finishing her treatment.
Duchess Kate to appear publicly. An unusual event
The concert will gather 1,600 people, including members of the royal family. The ceremony will combine traditional and modern elements, allowing people of all faiths and non-believers to participate.
Artists such as Paloma Faith, Olivia Dean, and Gregory Porter will perform, further enriching the concert. The Duchess has announced that despite personal difficulties, she plans to make more public appearances.
Duchess Kate is battling cancer
In June, Duchess Kate announced that there are advances in her treatment. This is the most significant update on her health status since announcing on 22nd March that cancer was detected. However, the specific type of cancer remains undisclosed.
In a statement, the Duchess expressed gratitude for the support received in recent months, writing: "I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well."
"My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home. I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet," the Duchess noted.
