In March, Duchess Kate confirmed the speculations of many and announced publicly that she is battling cancer. This is why her recovery after abdominal surgery took so long. Middleton has not participated in any public appearance this year, and it does not seem like this will change.
Duchess Kate coordinated an important project
The Duchess is currently undergoing chemotherapy. However, as announced by a spokesperson for Kensington Palace, this does not mean she has given up her royal duties. Kate has even been called the 'driving force' of a project encouraging businesses to implement more family-friendly work practices.
However, early childhood is a huge priority for the Princess and so she has been kept fully updated throughout the development of the Taskforce’s work, and she has seen the report, said the spokesperson.
Her task force on business for early childhood presented a new report. The document showed that investing in early childhood support could generate over £44 billion annually for the national economy.
When will Duchess Kate return to work?
Palace officials emphasize that Kate's actions on behalf of the Royal Foundation are not a political campaign. However, the project has garnered significant interest among those in power, and the report's findings have already been presented to ministers in departments such as health and education.
Kensington Palace notes that coordinating the report is not Kate's official return to work. However, it is known that the Duchess will continue her efforts in this area once she fully returns to her duties.
The spokesman concluded that Kate would return to work once she regained her strength and was cleared by doctors.
