Violent storms in Dubai paralyzed residents for many hours, immobilizing them while they waited for help. One of the people who came to their rescue was real estate agent and off-roading enthusiast Deepak Mohan.
The man owns a 2000 Land Cruiser. Unlike personal car drivers, Mohan could move without obstacles through the flooded streets.
Mohan transported several people to safety, including a nurse in advanced pregnancy, a woman in a wheelchair with her daughter, and a visiting Kazakh family.
These acts of kindness did not go unnoticed, and many people expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mohan for his selfless deeds. The man was proclaimed a hero of Dubai.
The 33-year-old man recounted that everything started when he received a message about the danger in the off-roader group around 7:30 PM GMT.
A father and daughter were stranded at the World Trade Center Metro Station for several hours, and I decided to help them – he said in an interview with the media and emphasized that he had no idea that the help would last until the early morning hours.
He was ready to end the action around 5:00 AM GMT, when suddenly a message came about a nurse in advanced pregnancy and two other healthcare workers stuck in a clinic in Al Barsha.
A big thank you, you are an angel. You helped us in a critical situation where I was stuck at the airport with my senior citizen mom. Thank you so much and God bless you always! You are an amazing driver! - wrote one of the rescued women.
