Drone strike ignites major fire at Russian refinery amidst silent air defence
The Russian defence ministry claims that overnight, the air defence forces intercepted five Ukrainian drones within its borders. Three were downed in the Bryansk region, one near Moscow, and another in the Belgorod region. However, a sixth one, which struck a refinery in the Kaluga region, was not mentioned.

A drone hit a refinery during the night in the Kaluga region - approximately 300 kilometres from the border with Ukraine. Images shared by local channels on Telegram show a significant blaze that broke out following the strike.
Residents reported hearing explosions around the facility at night, preceded by the distinctive sound of drones flying overhead.
The Governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, announced on his Telegram channel that the fire was promptly put out and confirmed that there were no casualties.
"We are currently evaluating the extent of the damage to the plant's infrastructure," Shapsha stated.
Repeat attack on the same refinery
While reporting on drone strikes within Russia, the Russian Ministry of Defence did not include the incident in the Kaluga region, as noted by the BBC. The ministry affirmed that overnight, it intercepted five drones: three in the Bryansk region, one near Moscow, and one in the Belgorod region, leaving out any mention of the drone(s) in the Kaluga region.
This incident marks another attack on this refinery, with a previous one occurring on March 15. At that time, drones targeted the oil refining facilities, resulting in a significant fire.
