Drone attack causes destruction in St. Petersburg, no casualties reported

An unknown drone flew over 900 kilometres and caused chaos in St. Petersburg, independent Russian media report. The unmanned vehicle hit a building block early in the morning, causing massive damage. Fortunately, no one died. A video capturing the moment of the attack has surfaced online.

Locals witnessed a "drone flying over their heads" that "destroyed half of a house". Videos showing the aftermath of the explosion have been shared online.

According to the Mash channel and Ukrainian Pravda, the drone might have been aiming for an oil depot located just over half a mile away, in the eastern part of the city.

A video displaying the attack has been posted online.

The authorities have declared a state of emergency.
