The 2023/24 Champions League season is closing, with only four teams left competing for the ultimate victory - Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, and Paris Saint-Germain.
On Tuesday, 30 April, the first semi-final match between Bayern and Real Madrid ended in a 2:2 draw at Bayern's home ground. The following day marked the start of the competition for the second pair, with BVB set to face PSG at the German team's stadium.
It has been quite a while since Borussia Dortmund reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. Thus, the match against the French champions generates great excitement in Dortmund. In response, the local club shared a video showing massive crowds heading to Signal Iduna Park.
"WOW" - was the succinct comment on the video posted on Borussia Dortmund's official profile on the X platform.
It's important to note that BVB has clinched the title in elite competitions only once, in 1997. In 2013, they were close to repeating this feat but were outplayed by Bayern Munich in the all-German final.
It's difficult to declare a clear favourite for the semi-final clash between BVB and PSG. The teams met in this year's group stage; the Parisians won 2:0 at home and drew 1:1 in the away game.
