Cleaning the kitchen, particularly the oven, requires a knowledge of clever methods. While today’s stores are filled with specialised chemical agents designed to tackle every problem, you can also turn to home remedies that are just as effective and cost mere pennies. Here is one of them.

How to clean the oven

Baking soda is one of the most popular ways to thoroughly clean the oven. While it is certainly effective, another method will make the oven sparkle in just an hour. All you need is water, an ovenproof dish, and one dishwasher capsule. The rest will take care of itself.

The entire process starts with removing all accessories from the oven. Next, pour a few glasses of water into an ovenproof dish inside. Then, drop in the dishwasher capsule and set the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Leave it for about an hour. After this time, remove the dish, and any residue - mostly grease - can be wiped away with a cloth. If that’s not enough, use a solution of vinegar and water.

Using a dishwasher tablet

A dishwasher tablet can also help with a clogged sink. Simply fill a glass halfway with hot water and drop in the dishwasher tablet. Once it dissolves, pour the solution into the sink and wait about 10 minutes. Then, flush everything out with warm water. Pour the solution into the sink every two weeks.

If you want to use other methods to clean your oven, try the lemon trick. Lemons remove dirt, limescale, and grease while polishing the surface.
