Ayran is an exceptionally healthy drink from Turkey. It's gaining popularity around the world due to its health benefits. It has a specific taste, and because of the health benefits, it is recommended for regular consumption by people with particular dietary needs.

Ayran consists of just three ingredients: water, natural yoghurt, and salt. Simply mix them in the right proportions to create a unique drink. It quenches thirst exceptionally well and has a beneficial effect on our body.

Many people do not like it the first time they taste it, but it is worth getting used to it. Turks call it "the healthiest drink in the world."

It is recommended with spicy dishes. People who sweat a lot should drink even more than one glass of this drink per day.

What else to drink during heatwaves?

Cardiologist Dr Adam Janas recommends that during heatwaves, you should choose drinks that help the body maintain the right temperature and hydration.

– Mineral water and adding fruits such as lemon or orange to it not only enhance its flavour but also provide additional vitamins and minerals. Isotonic drinks help replenish electrolytes lost through sweat, which is crucial for maintaining electrolyte balance and preventing dehydration – the specialist listed.

He added that coconut water is a natural source of potassium, sodium, and other minerals that help maintain electrolyte balance, so it hydrates the body very well.
