Digestive issues. Can it be caused by combining cherries and water?
Cherry lovers are not in short supply. Unsurprisingly, these delicious fruits can genuinely captivate the taste buds. However, when eating cherries, one must be very careful. Certain combinations can result in a powerful stomach ache.

Cherries contain a lot of dietary fibre. Although this fibre is generally beneficial for digestive processes, in certain cases, it can cause more harm than good, especially when combined with a large amount of water.
Eating cherries and drinking water can accelerate the transit of food content in the intestines, simultaneously contributing to intensified bowel movements.
A similar situation can be especially dangerous for people with sensitive digestive systems and stomach problems. It can result in stomach aches and diarrhoea, and even lead to inflammations.
Similar combinations should be avoided by people suffering from pancreatitis and inflammation of the intestines and bile ducts, as well as patients with duodenal or stomach ulcers.
This does not mean they cannot eat cherries. It is possible, but one should remember to treat these fruits as a standalone snack between meals.
Cherries provide a supply of vitamin C
It is worth noting that cherries contain a lot of vitamin C and polyphenols, essential for maintaining healthy skin.
Cherries are also rich in folic acid, vitamins A, E, and K, and various minerals—calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, iodine, zinc, and phosphorus. They support the function of the heart and thyroid.
