Diddy denied bail as court cites witness tampering risks

The 55-year-old Diddy Combs, also known as Sean "Diddy" Combs, is a music producer, rapper, and record label owner. He gained fame through his collaboration with Bad Boy Records and has achieved success in industries such as fashion, alcohol, and media.

Combs has been charged with sex trafficking and sexual exploitation of women over many years with the help of associates. The musician denies the charges, claiming that the relationships with the women were consensual.

According to prosecutors, Combs attempted to influence potential jurors and witnesses through social media campaigns and contacts with third parties. They also claim he violated prison regulations by using the phone numbers of other inmates, whom he paid for unauthorized calls.

Court rejected Diddy's lawyers' arguments

Federal Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that Combs poses a serious threat to the community. In his opinion, no bail conditions would provide adequate protection to the public, and even the strictest form of house arrest would not prevent him from further violating the law.

During hearings, the musician's lawyers argued that the proposed £41 million bail package would ensure his appearance at trial and compliance with the release conditions. However, the court rejected these arguments.

According to the AP agency, Combs's appeal regarding bail release has been suspended until it is reviewed. If convicted, the artist could spend many years in prison. His trial is scheduled for next year. In the past, Combs has been charged several times with various offences, but in the majority of cases, he was not convicted.
