Deadly ambush on special officers in Russia triggers "Siren" plan
Unknown assailants attacked officers from the Special Rapid Response Unit in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic in Russia, resulting in two officers being killed and a third critically injured and currently fighting for life in the hospital. "All were robbed of their service weapons and AKM assault rifles," reports the Shot channel, citing sources. The region has activated the "Siren" plan.

The "Siren" plan entails a series of special measures for police officers and other agencies to suppress disturbances in populated areas, apprehend criminal groups, and locate and arrest armed and highly dangerous criminals.
According to the Mash channel, the attack on the special unit happened overnight, transitioning from Sunday to Monday. "Two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, while another succumbed to injuries at the hospital. The criminals made off with service weapons, AKM assault rifles, and ammunition," the channel reports, additionally sharing photos of the suspected individuals.
RIA Novosti confirms that two policemen were killed immediately during the incident, with a third officer in critical condition and rushed to the hospital.
Around midnight, residents of Karachayevsk were startled awake by noises resembling gunshots.
"As it was later revealed, a group of bandits had opened fire on three policemen on duty. Two officers were killed instantly, without even a moment to unbuckle their belts - according to the nephew of one of the deceased, who spoke with the Readovka portal.
The number of attackers and the direction they fled remain unknown to the authorities.
