Conor McGregor sets record in "Road House" debut, eclipses Dwayne Johnson

The premiere of the movie "Road House" took place on March 21st. Conor McGregor, who made his big-screen debut, could not be missed at the event. Interestingly, he made a huge amount of money from it. He broke the record payout for Dwayne Johnson's debut performance in the movie "The Mummy Returns".
In "Road House", the main role is played by Jake Gyllenhaal, who embodies the character of Dalton, a former UFC fighter, trying to escape his dark past and tendency toward violence. Barely making ends meet, his life changes when he meets Frankie (Jessica Williams), the owner of a bar that attracts suspicious types on one of the Florida islands.
His opponent is Conor McGregor, a mixed martial arts fighter competing in the featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight categories. The Irishman himself mentioned the amount he earned for his participation in the movie during a conversation with Good Morning Britain.

McGregor was to earn £4.5 million for his participation in Road House. This makes him the highest-grossing debutant on the silver screen. He beat the record payout for Dwayne Johnson's debut performance in "The Mummy Returns".
