The cause of death was said to be a "sudden medical incident."

Mark Thompson, the CEO of CNN, also announced Alice Stewart's death. Stewart joined the network before the 2016 elections. In an email to CNN employees, Mark Thompson emphasised the 58-year-old's contribution to the network's development and atmosphere.

Alice Stewart was born on March 11, 1966, in Atlanta. She took her first steps in the profession as a reporter and producer. Her interest in journalism and politics led her to become a Little Rock, Arkansas, news presenter. Sometime later, she was promoted to Director of Communications in the office of Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.
The journalist also participated in the campaigns of Rick Santorum, Michael Bachmann, and Ted Cruz. Her skills and experience made her a remarkable figure in politics and journalism. At CNN, Alice Stewart commented on current political events, including on the programme "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."
