Chechen leader suggests using captives as 'human shields'

However, the joyful atmosphere was disrupted in the morning by the attack of Ukrainian drones on the special forces barracks in Grozny. It was quite a blow for the Chechen warlord.

Nevertheless, in the evening, Kadyrov triumphantly appeared on television riding a captured American infantry fighting vehicle. He was accompanied by a dozen Ukrainian captives.

He first asked them if they were being treated well, and when they confirmed, he stated they looked "as if they had just returned from holiday." He then said they should be placed on rooftops of Chechen military facilities, to be "photographed by American satellites." - Let them protect our territory - he added, suggesting they should serve as "human shields".

However, this was not the only outrageous performance by Kadyrov. At one point, he approached one of the Ukrainian captives. - "Better to die than be captured." If you want, I’ll give you a gun... Will you shoot yourself? - he asked the captive.

The captive replied that he would not do it. When asked "why?", the captive answered: "because I want to live".

- There is a war now, you went to kill and die. I'll give you a weapon, and you'll shoot yourself and die like a hero - continued Kadyrov.

- No - replied the captive once again.

- You don't want to, right? He wants to kill, but doesn't want to die. That's not how it works! In war, you kill and you die. One must think first. This is not a cartoon - declared the Chechen warlord.
