Cameron Diaz returns with Jamie Foxx in Netflix's 'Back in Action'
Cameron Diaz returns to acting after a nine-year break. She will star in "Back in Action" with Jamie Foxx, which is a real treat for the actress's fans. Will Diaz disappear again after this film?
Cameron Diaz has decided to return to Hollywood after almost a decade away. Her latest film, Back in Action, will premiere on Netflix this Friday, January 17th. Once again, Diaz will star alongside Jamie Foxx, with whom she previously appeared in the films Any Given Sunday and Annie. Only an actor like Foxx could persuade Diaz to step back onto a film set.
Return to Acting
Diaz explained that returning was largely due to Foxx's offer. "I thought that if I was going to come back and do a movie, the only person I'd come back and do it with would be this guy," she said in an "Empire" magazine interview. Over the past few years, the actress has focused on family life.
In the new film, Diaz and Foxx play former CIA agents whose identities are exposed. The cast also includes Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, and Andrew Scott. The director is Seth Gordon, who previously worked with Foxx on "Horrible Bosses."
When discussing her future career plans, Diaz shared that she prefers to keep her options open and avoid setting strict boundaries. She expressed a willingness to pursue opportunities that align with what feels right for her and her family, highlighting that while she remains open to future projects, her family remains her main focus. While she has not ruled out acting after her current film, she clarified that she is not committing to a full return to regular work in the industry, opting instead to make decisions as circumstances arise. However, she also mentioned that she no longer feels drawn to romantic comedies.
"Back in Action" will be available on Netflix from 17th January. This long-awaited return of Cameron Diaz to the screen will certainly draw attention from fans worldwide. The new number one on the platform is a certainty.
In past interviews, Cameron Diaz shared that she needed time to reclaim her life, explaining that she prioritized her well-being over opinions, success, or offers. This decision led her to step away from acting in films and television to focus on building the life she truly desired. She started a family with her husband, musician Benji Madden of Good Charlotte, during this period. The couple now raises their two children, Raddix and Cardinal. Previously, Diaz starred in well-known productions such as The Box, Sex Tape, The Other Woman, The Holiday, Vanilla Sky, and the iconic Charlie's Angels.
