A British priest has died following an intoxicating night with a Belgian priest, during which they reportedly used drugs and had an intimate encounter. This case has been discussed in the Belgian media for several days.

The 69-year-old British clergyman spent the evening at the presbytery in Kalmthout, located north of Antwerp, in the company of his Belgian colleague.

During their time together, the two priests took ecstasy and poppers before engaging in an intimate encounter. Later that night, the British priest began feeling unwell. According to the "Daily Mail", shortly after midnight his colleague, Pastor B., called emergency services. Despite the quick response from the paramedics, the 69-year-old clergyman could not be saved.

The preliminary autopsy did not reveal conclusive information about the circumstances of the death. An initial urine test confirmed the presence of drugs, but the definitive cause of death will be determined only after a full autopsy.

The 60-year-old priest was questioned by an investigative judge and provided a statement about the events of that fateful night.

As reported by the "Daily Mail", the prosecutor indicated that some aspects of his testimony require further clarification. Following the questioning, the clergyman was arrested and charged with drug trafficking, which allegedly led to his colleague's death.

The sudden arrest of the pastor has shocked the local community. The case received additional attention because, at the same time, Belgium was hosting Pope Francis.
