Several Russian news outlets and associated social media accounts claimed on Monday, citing unnamed "media sources," the supposed demise of the 75-year-old king.

Untrue claims about the British king by Russians

On social media, they shared a statement, attempting to make it seem as if it had been issued by Buckingham Palace, announcing the king's unexpected death on Sunday afternoon.

In rebuttal, the British Embassy in Moscow published a message on the platform X featuring a statement on a red background in large text, proclaiming: "Reports of the death of the King of Great Britain, Charles, are FALSE!".

A similar announcement was also made by the British Embassy in Ukraine.
