Until recently, Blake Lively could boast a crystal-clear image of the perfect "girl next door" and, at the same time, the perfect wife and mother.

The first crack appeared in March this year when she joked about a Photoshop mishap involving the royals while trying to promote her own line of non-alcoholic beverages. The outcome was the opposite of what the actress had hoped for. For the most part, internet users lambasted Blake, accusing her of capitalising on someone else's suffering, and the remorseful celebrity had to offer a thorough explanation afterwards.
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's conflict on set
The strategy of avoiding any scandals at all costs, pursued since the beginning of her career, had so far yielded promising results for the star. Now, however, America's sweetheart unexpectedly found herself at the very centre of a drama that, for several days, has been fodder for media outlets worldwide. The result is that the ongoing promotional campaign for Blake's latest film, "It Ends with Us", where she plays the protagonist, takes place in an atmosphere of scandal.
It turns out that the director and one of the film's male leads, Justin Baldoni, is immersed in a fierce conflict with Lively. The situation has escalated to the point where the star ostentatiously ignores her on-screen partner, firmly refusing to pose together on the red carpet. Internet users suspected a rift in their relationship a few weeks ago when the actors suddenly stopped following each other's profiles on Instagram. Their behaviour at premieres only confirmed these suspicions.
What has caused Blake and Justin to be unable to stand each other? According to American press reports, there could be several factors. One of them is said to be the constant disputes between the lead actors on set, rooted in their completely different visions of how the film should ultimately look. Lively reportedly objected to Baldoni's direction and repeatedly demanded changes to scenes he had approved. The 36-year-old also wanted to have the final say during the production editing.
As reported by People magazine, Justin had no intention of succumbing to the pressure exerted by Lively. However, when Blake's husband, Ryan Reynolds, personally intervened with the producers at her request, the director was forced to hand over control to the actress, and it is "her" version that ultimately made it to the screens. During Friday's London premiere, Baldoni made it abundantly clear what he thinks of his "colleague" by announcing that he has no intention of stepping behind the camera for the sequel, sarcastically adding that the direction should be entrusted to Blake this time.
"Sexist and inappropriate" behaviour of the director during "It Ends with Us" production
TikTok is full of videos presenting the other side of the story. Rumour has it that Baldoni directed "sexist" and "inappropriate" comments towards Blake and the rest of the crew, leading most in the conflict to side with Lively. One person present on set told the Daily Mail that Baldoni, playing an abuser, got too into his character. He is also said to have suggested that Blake lose the extra pounds from her fourth pregnancy more quickly.
During scenes depicting abuse, Justin failed to consider Blake’s character’s perspective, instead focusing solely on what he believed was the abusive male viewpoint – reports someone from the melodrama set. His approach was very chauvinistic, creating a tense atmosphere on set.
