The show business world has shown many times that nothing is forever. In 2022, the media reported that Billy Ray Cyrus ended his long-term marriage with Miley Cyrus’s mum. The father of the top star quickly got involved with a new woman, who turned out to be a singer a whopping three decades younger, performing under the pseudonym Firerose. Just a few months later, the couple walked down the aisle. However, the bliss did not last long.
A few days ago, TMZ reported that the 62-year-old singer recently filed for divorce. He reportedly cited “irreconcilable differences” and “marital misconduct” and “fraud,” the details of which are unknown. However, it turns out that there is more to the story, and Cyrus's ex-wife does not intend to stay silent.
Billy Ray Cyrus's new wife accuses him of domestic violence
According to media reports, in response to the divorce petition, Firerose accused Billy Ray Cyrus of domestic violence. The portal “People” reports that the country musician allegedly had problems with substance abuse. Firerose’s lawyers said this made the 62-year-old “unpredictable and volatile.”
The wife was a victim of extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse. (...) The wife was exposed to her husband’s constant drug use, which was accompanied by marijuana use, making the husband unpredictable and volatile towards the wife - the portal “People” quotes the case files.
In the complaint filed by Firerose, it was noted that she was supposed to undergo a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. The surgery was scheduled for 24 May 2024, but the day before, Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce. According to the case files obtained by the tabloid, the musician's beloved allegedly had to postpone the surgery indefinitely because she had nowhere to live and was reportedly covered by his health insurance.
Billy Ray Cyrus responds to his wife's allegations
Miley Cyrus's father commented on the matter through his representative. In a statement sent to "Page Six," Billy Ray Cyrus addressed the behaviour of his wife, Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rosie Hodges.
We regret that Mrs. Hodges decided to go to the press regarding this seven-month marriage, leaving Mr. Cyrus with no choice but to set the record straight. The allegations made by Mrs. Hodges in her response and counter-complaint are particularly misleading and questionable in their integrity, as she was begging Mr. Cyrus for forgiveness and to take her back just two days after he requested the dissolution of the marriage - the “Page Six” editorial team reports.
