As reported by "The New York Times," a doctor specialising in Parkinson's disease visited the White House eight times over eight months. Immediately, a wave of speculation began about whether the 81-year-old U.S. President Joe Biden has the disease. The White House has already addressed this issue.

"The New York Times" stated that the name of the doctor specialising in Parkinson's disease was found in the logbook of people visiting the White House. The doctor visited the White House at least eight times between August and March 2024.

Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House Press Secretary, assured a press conference on Monday evening that President Biden does not have Parkinson's disease. However, she did not want to say whether the neurologist had ever treated the president or consulted on his care, citing privacy issues.

Also on Monday evening, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, Biden's physician, issued a letter stating that President Biden has not visited a neurologist outside of regular, annual physical checkups.

The White House emphasises that Biden, at 81, can still fulfil his duties and fully carry out all his tasks.

Speculation about Biden's health intensified after an unsuccessful debate with Donald Trump at the end of June. During the debate, Biden lost his thought and had trouble finishing sentences.

U.S. elections. Joe Biden writes a letter

In a long letter to Democrats, President Joe Biden stated that the party must unite to increase its chances of defeating Donald Trump in the autumn presidential elections.

We have one job. And that is to beat Donald Trump. We have 42 days to the Democratic Convention and 119 days to the general election. Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity about the task ahead only helps Trump and hurts us. It is time to come together, move forward as a unified party, and defeat Donald Trump - reads a letter published by Biden on platform X.
