Joe Biden made a unique comment regarding his own son, Hunter Biden, who is in legal trouble. The American president firmly stated that he would not pardon the young Biden if he is convicted in the firearms offence trial.

President Biden declared that he rejected the pardon for his offspring during an interview with ABC News. He gave it while staying in Normandy, France, where the ceremonies for the 80th anniversary of the Allies' landing were organized.

The troubles of the 54-year-old Biden Jr., the president's only living son, have brought him to a courtroom in Wilmington, Delaware. The charges against Hunter are related to his possession of a firearm without proper permits. He bought a Colt Cobra revolver, providing false information on the gun application.

This occurred in 2018, at a time when Hunter was severely addicted to drugs. All this makes this single purchase the reason for three charges. If found guilty, the man faces up to 25 years in prison.

Wilmington will not be the only place Hunter will have to face justice. In September, he faces a trial in California for failing to pay taxes, which total 1.1 million pounds.

According to the BBC, the court in Delaware heard two more witnesses on Friday, and prosecutors presented the remaining evidence to the grand jury. It is unknown whether Joe Biden will testify in this first trial in US history of the son of a sitting US president.

Joe Biden's son is in legal trouble. His father will not pardon him

Hunter claims he is innocent. He did not lie on the application, stating he was "clean" from drugs because he was not abusing them. On Thursday, the court heard Hallie Biden, a central figure in the case. She is Hunter's girlfriend; she became involved with the accused shortly after the death of his brother and her husband in 2015.

It was Hallie who found the gun. She claims that Hunter taught her how to smoke crack. She was convinced that she stopped using the drug in August 2018, but she couldn't persuade her partner to do the same.

She panicked and threw the revolver into a dumpster outside a store. When Hunter realised this, she went back to look for the gun. When it turned out it was gone, she went to the police to take the blame.

It is still unknown how this trial will end. However, after Joe Biden's declarations, it is clear that if Hunter is convicted, his father will not pardon him.
