During a rocket alert in Belgorod, Russia, tourists relaxing on the city's Berga beach couldn't fit in the shelter. A few hours earlier, fragments of one of the rockets fell on the beach, right next to people standing at the shore. As a result of the last two bombings in the area, eleven people were injured.

This is the second incident in a few hours in which residents of Belgorod have had to flee to shelter. The first alarm sounded at around 14:00 Greenwich Time. The region's Governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced that the city was under rocket attack and that residents should immediately go to the nearest shelters.

They couldn't fit in the shelters

Only a few weeks ago, the authorities in Belgorod decided to deploy mobile shelters due to frequent attacks on the city. Previously, residents complained that they had nowhere to take cover when an alarm sounded.

During the first alarm, it turned out that the shelters at the city beaches couldn't accommodate everyone. The Astra channel released footage showing Russians crowding around the shelter. In the background, a rocket can be heard. At the same time, Russian air defences were shooting down incoming missiles.

Fragments of one of the rockets shot down by Russian anti-aircraft defences fell on Berga beach in Belgorod. "The footage captured the fall of one of the fragments, which hit the water right next to people standing on the shore. People didn't have enough time to hide," the report reads. The fragments also damaged a few cars.

Another alarm sounded around 16:30 Greenwich Time. At that time, panicked Russians also started fleeing to the shelters. However, a significant group of beachgoers couldn't fit in with them.

According to authorities, in the last two bombings in the whole region, eleven people were injured.
