Although Belarusians fought in Donbas 10 years ago, it was only following the full-scale invasion by Russia that a volunteer unit for Belarusians defending sovereign Ukraine was officially formed. As mentioned on the regiment's website - after two years of combat, the battalion, initially composed solely of soldiers from Belarus, has now become a professional military force, referring to itself as the "future army" of its homeland.

The unit was named in honor of Wincenty Konstanty Kalinowski - one of the leaders of the January Uprising in Lithuania and Belarus.

The commander of the Belarusian regiment in Ukraine, Dzianis Procharau alias Kit, recently announced that within the regiment, which boasts nearly 5,000 soldiers, there is also an international Kościuszko Squad, featuring volunteers from Poland, Canada, France, among others.

The speed at which we tackle the enemy depends on how quickly Belarusians can return from emigration to their homeland. Our motto is: "By liberating Belarus, we liberate Ukraine" - says the regiment's commander.

On the second anniversary of the beginning of the invasion by Russia, they released a video announcing their return to Belarus and a confrontation with Alexander Lukashenko.

The Regiment has recently introduced FPV drones into combat and is already witnessing the first successes - this technology is already causing considerable devastation among Russian forces, with the internet recently awash with videos capturing the moments before the strikes.

The unit scored two direct hits on targets, inflicting "heavy losses" on the enemy. According to Belsat, the drone attacks on the invaders lead to injuries and fatalities, and Russian military equipment was also destroyed.
