Precision Strikes and Online Witnessing: Drone Attacks in Russia Unfold
In the drone attack on the refinery in Ryazan, two people were injured. They are in good condition, according to the TASS agency. The governor of the region, who is on the scene, however, claims that the attack injured "many people" and notes "there are also fatalities".
A fire broke out at the oil refinery in the Ryazan region due to a drone attack. The unmanned aerial vehicles arrived in the morning. One of them hit the heat exchangers.
Reporting the attack online
Numerous recordings and photos from the attack appeared online despite the authorities' appeal to Russians not to publish any materials in such situations, as this would enable the attack to be corrected.
Russians, disregarding the authorities' plea, broadcasted the attack live online. In one of the recordings, a Russian is amazed by the precision of the Ukrainian drone's strike: "Wow, it hit the exact same spot".
Truck drivers waiting to load in front of the refinery also observed the attack. They recorded it on their phones and posted it online.
Drones also attacked the regions of: Leningrad, Voronezh, and Belgorod.
More than 30 drones were shot down in the Voronezh region. Debris fell on the market and a substation. "A residential building and a substation were damaged, and in the Soviecki region, the roof of a store was partially destroyed. Schools in the Buturlinovka area are operating remotely," the channel Shot reported.
As Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported, as many as 45,000 people are without electricity after the attack on the Belgorod region in Russia.
The Russian Ministry of Defense in a statement at 7 AM GMT announced that air defense systems destroyed 58 Ukrainian drones.
"11 drones were shot down over the Belgorod region, 8 over Bryansk, another 29 over Voronezh, 8 over Kursk, and one over Ryazan and Leningrad" - we read in the post on Telegram.
Attack on Lukoil and the city of Oryol
This is another massive drone attack in recent days. On Tuesday, a drone attacked the Lukoil refinery in Kstovo in the Nizhny Novgorod region in Russia. As reported by channel 112, the drone hit "directly the oil distillation installation". A fire broke out at the scene. The drone also hit the "fuel and energy complex" in the city of Oryol in Russia.
