Barbra Streisand's stepson struggles: From trust fund to homelessness
History has repeatedly shown that wealthy relatives are not always guaranteed luxury and a carefree life. Jess Brolin, the son of Barbra Streisand's husband, is experiencing this first-hand. He lives in a motel today, but not too long ago, he was homeless.

The fact that showbiz celebrities can afford a high standard of living should not be a surprise to anyone. In many cases, this is also fortunate for their close ones, but unfortunately, not always. There have been numerous examples throughout history of relatives of famous personalities living in extreme poverty or even without a roof over their heads.
Barbra Streisand's stepson lives in poverty. "We offered him help"
Another person experiencing a difficult life situation despite being related to high-profile names is Jess Brolin, as reported by the Daily Mail. Once, the son of James Brolin and stepson of Barbra Streisand did not have much to complain about regarding his situation. Still, today, he resides at the Topa Vista Hotel in Ojai, California, and is far from the lavish lifestyle his relatives lead.
It all started in 1995 when the man's mother tragically died in a car accident. Brolin inherited a trust fund that provided him with a decent life. Unfortunately, the money soon ran out, and in 2011, the man had to live in his own truck. When it broke down, he even experienced homelessness and had to survive on food from bins.
Streisand was repeatedly asked about her stepson's living situation and only responded once through her media representative. The statement indicated that the family had tried to extend a helping hand, but he refused their assistance.
We have offered help and support and continue to do so. We love him very much and want only the best for him, the Daily Mail quoted the statement as saying.
The service mentioned reached an informant who claims that Jess and other guests of Topa Vista "have been here for few months and will remain for few more." It is unclear whether the man is employed or has had contact with his famous relatives.
