Amy Adams was born on 20 August 1974 in Aviano, Italy. Her father was in the military, which meant the family moved frequently. When she was seven years old, they settled in Colorado. From a young age, she showed an interest in art and dance. Initially, she wanted to be a dancer but quickly became interested in acting.
She was nominated for an Oscar six times but hasn't received any statuettes
She began her film career in 1999, starring in "Drop Dead Gorgeous" alongside Kirsten Dunst and Denise Richards. In subsequent years, she secured roles in series such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Charmed", and "That '70s Show".
Her breakthrough came in 2002 when she received a role in "Catch Me If You Can", directed by Steven Spielberg. The film brought her worldwide recognition. Three years later, she appeared in "Junebug". Her role as Ashley, a young, pregnant, uncouth girl from a small town, brought her first Oscar nomination.
In the following years, she received up to five nominations for supporting roles in productions such as Doubt, The Fighter, The Master, American Hustle, and Vice. Although she is considered one of the most talented and versatile actresses of her generation, she has not yet received any statuette. For this reason, she decided to take a few years off from acting and focus on her family life.
She is a happy wife and mother
The actress is very protective of her private life. However, it is known that in 2015, she married actor Darren Le Gallo, whom she met 14 years earlier in acting school. Her chosen one is a film director and producer.
"He's really special. I'm really lucky because he's not competitive with me. He supports and embraces my success as mine," she said in an interview with People magazine.
Le Gallo also had warm words for her.
"My wife's support has meant everything to me throughout our relationship. She has really good instincts. Our partner's support means a lot to us," he said about her in an interview with People.
In 2010, the couple welcomed their daughter Aviana, named after the town where Adams was born.
"You constantly amaze me with your humor, intelligence and spirit. This day is a true celebration. I love you!," she wrote about her daughter in one of her posts.
