The training ground since World War II
The Libava military training ground was established after World War II on land previously inhabited by the expelled German population. Until the early 1990s, it served as a base for Soviet troops.
The training ground occupies part of the Oder Mountains area, including its highest peak, Fidlovy Kopec, and the source of the Oder. A tourist trail has been marked to the source and can be walked on weekends and holidays.
