On Friday, 26 July, the Olympic Games' grand opening ceremony took place in Paris. Fans of this event are closely following not only the sports competitions but also the athletes' social media, which shows what’s happening behind the scenes.

The rower from the USA team shared a video on TikTok in which she talked about trying to meet someone in the Olympic village through dating apps.

Encouraged by videos watched online, she was sure she would come across single athletes participating in the Olympics. In reality, she had to deal with disappointment.

She started browsing the dating app. She didn’t foresee this

Rower Emily Delleman admitted that she installed Tinder during her stay in the Olympic village. She expected to see single athletes on the app in whom she could be interested, but she was disappointed.

“I was lying in my cardboard bed the other day recovering... and I was scrolling through TikTok and I was seeing the girly saying like 'hey change your geo location to Olympic Village...' and I was like 'genius, I mean I'm here right now,'" explained Emily.

She then installed it and started browsing profiles. During her search, she came across only two other athletes.

“Don't get me wrong. You Parisian men are beautiful... but I went in with the expectations of finding some of my future plotlines,” she confessed.

Besides the disappointment in finding potential partners, Emily is delighted with her stay in Paris. She praises the food, the atmosphere, and the Olympic outfits.
