The tragic accident on the set of the movie "Rust" was covered by media worldwide. The unfortunate event occurred in October 2021, when, during the filming of scenes, Alec Baldwin accidentally fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. The actor did not hide that he was deeply affected by the entire situation.
Alec Baldwin repeatedly emphasised that he was not aware that the gun, which was a prop during the filming of the western, was loaded with live ammunition. As we reported some time ago, the case of the accidental shooting of the cinematographer by the American actor was ultimately resolved in court. The 66-year-old faced eighteen months of imprisonment.
Alec Baldwin heard the verdict. The actor immediately burst into tears
After nearly three years, a verdict was reached. On Friday, the court in New Mexico dismissed the case of involuntary manslaughter of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins by Alec Baldwin. In a separate proceeding, the person responsible for involuntary manslaughter was identified. It was 26-year-old Hannah Gutierrez-Reed who was responsible for weapons on the set during the film's production.
The court’s decision was an extremely emotional moment for Alec Baldwin. Recordings and photos from the court have already appeared in the media. In the materials shared online, you can see the 66-year-old actor bursting into tears. He also hugged his wife, who accompanied him in court that day.
