More and more people around the world are choosing to get tattoos. For many years, they had negative connotations, primarily associated with the criminal underworld as a permanent "souvenir" of serving a prison sentence.
Fortunately, over time, tattoos began to be perceived as a form of expression or a permanent remembrance of important people or events from our lives. Some even saw aesthetic value in them. According to recent studies by the CBOS institute, one in ten Poles has decided on this permanent body decoration. Outside of our country, these statistics are even higher. One of the people with the most tattoos in the world is Canadian Jeremy Schofield.
He covered almost his entire body with tattoos, spending a fortune on it
Over several years of body decoration, the 36-year-old devoted over 2,200 hours and spent nearly £250,000. Aside from most of his face and hands, his body was almost entirely covered in black ink, which was applied 30 times in some cases.
“Currently, I have two sessions a week. Overall, there have been very few sessions for the last seven years. Earlier, I used to go to the tattoo salon up to five times a week. I believe that I am currently the most tattooed person in the world, and by a substantial margin" – the proud Canadian emphasised his "achievement".
"Remy," as the man calls himself, creates skin designs according to pre-established patterns. His tattoo collection includes, among other things, skulls, flowers, body parts, and various creatures. His passion for body modification entirely changed his career path. The former chef decided to open his own studio, serving as its living advertisement.
Schofield regularly posts photos of his "ink" on Instagram. He has gathered a community of over 80,000 followers who observe his ongoing transformations. Unexpectedly, he recently posted a picture taken in 2007, just before the birth of his life's passion.
"Such transformation photos are always great to look at. Even better is that you are happy in both. You look younger and more beautiful. My respect; Besides the obvious tattoos, you are also more athletic. Great transformation; I love what you do. I always look forward to your posts. Keep it up, man! You are an innovator and an inspiration." praised internet users.
Remy emphasised that despite his controversial appearance, he does not hear negative remarks about him, and the only critical opinions directed at him are exclusively online. Some people on the street even ask him for autographs and selfies.
