- Now, as we near the third winter of this war, Russia is once again trying to destroy our energy system. And this fall, they are being even more cynical: they are preparing to target our nuclear power plants. Three of them. We have this information and we have proof of this, - said Zelensky, speaking at the Council's debate on the war in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian president did not provide details but accused Moscow of aiming to cause blackouts again this winter and to deprive millions of Ukrainians of electricity and heating.
"Russia can only be forced into peace"
He emphasised that Russia constantly lies about its actions in Ukraine because it cannot justify them. - Russia is forced to stay silent or lie about why its drones and missiles are found in the airspace of Poland, Moldova, and Romania - he said, adding that the war cannot be ended by talks but by actions.
"Russia can only be forced into peace," he declared.
