Zelensky seeks renewed alliance with Trump amid conflict
"I recall our great meeting with President Trump back in September, when we discussed in detail the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine," wrote the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, who congratulated Trump on his election victory.

Zelensky highlighted his appreciation for President Trump's commitment to the "peace through strength" approach in international affairs. "This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer. I am hopeful that we will put it into action together," he wrote.
Zelensky expects a new "era of a strong United States"
"We look forward to an era of a strong United States of America under President Trump’s decisive leadership. We rely on continued strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States," he emphasized.
Zelensky added that Ukraine is interested in "developing mutually beneficial political and economic cooperation that will benefit both of our nations."
"Ukraine, as one of Europe's strongest military powers, is committed to ensuring long-term peace and security in Europe and the Transatlantic community with the support of our allies," Zelensky assured.
"I am looking forward to personally congratulating President Trump and discussing ways to strengthen Ukraine's strategic partnership with the United States," the President of Ukraine concluded.
Can Trump end the war in 24 hours?
Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that if he wins the election, he will stop the war in Ukraine and could do it even "within 24 hours." In an interview with the American publication "The Wall Street Journal," Trump declared that he warned Putin against starting the war. "Vladimir, if you go after Ukraine, I am going to hit you so hard, you’re not even going to believe it. I’m going to hit you right in the middle of [...] Moscow…and I’m going to take those [...] domes right off your head.’ Because, you know, he lives under the domes," Trump reportedly said.
The Kremlin also commented on Trump's victory. Dmitry Medvedev suggested that Trump would suspend the support the USA provides to Ukraine. "He mortally dislikes spending money on various hangers—on and hangers-on stupid allies," he wrote. He emphasized that "the objectives of the Special Military Operation remain unchanged and will be achieved."
