- I think that we are closer to peace than we think - said the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with ABC television in September. Now, the politician has mentioned a truce in the war instigated by Russia yet again.

- Together with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sibiga, we are preparing replacements in the diplomatic corps very soon. We will present them in a week and a half. Interviews with candidates for the positions of ambassadors of Ukraine are underway. There are strong proposals - said Zelensky in a recording quoted by the state news agency Ukrinform.

Trump’s peace plan

President-elect Donald Trump suggested on Monday that Ukraine should cede part of its territory to Russia, highlighting the extent of destruction in the occupied areas. He added that he might reverse the decision to allow Ukraine to use American missiles to attack Russia.

- You know it’s nice to say they want their land back, but the cities are largely destroyed - said Trump during a Monday press conference at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

- It’s a demolition site. There’s not a building standing. People can’t go back to those cities. It’s just rubble - said the Republican. He stressed that the extent of destruction and the number of casualties requires an end to this war. He also added that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, desires peace.
