Rossi recalls being informed of her husband's purported tragic demise by his Florida-based parents. She, however, resides in California. Prior to this, Rossi's marriage was on the rocks - the couple was in the process of getting divorced.
The parents of the supposedly deceased son stated that due to the ongoing divorce proceedings, Rossi should refrain from attending the funeral. Post this devastating update, Rossi had conversations not just with her in-laws, but also with individuals purporting to be a coroner and local police station personnel.
The whole incident took place in January. Rossi adhered to the request and didn't attend the funeral. She spent the subsequent months grappling with her grief, until she uncovered the shocking truth.
A message revealed her husband was alive. He made a statement
One day in March, a startling message landed in Rossi's inbox. It revealed that her husband was alive and well, living in Mexico with a lover. The 41-year-old man decided to address the stories that had been circulating about him.
"I didn't stage my own death. It's the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard," he told Rossi.
He accused Rossi of circulating false narratives and claimed that he had initiated the divorce proceedings. He also alleged that he had discovered his wife's mother was in a coma. However, the woman wasn't in a coma and he blamed Rossi for spreading this false information too. Rossi was in for even more revelations.

Rossi found out that her own mother was implicated in this convoluted saga, because she had been communicating with the man and his lover. Rossi revealed that her mother had blocked her and was unwilling to communicate with her, and contradicted the claim that the ex-husband had requested for a divorce. In fact, it was Rossi who left him and relocated away from Miami.
"The fact that my husband and his lover have been conversing with my mother over the phone and documenting their conversations, in my view, demonstrates that this was a premeditated plan. They intended to portray me as a mad person," Rossi said, sharing screenshots of the messages exchanged between those involved.
Rossi's ex-husband vehemently denied ever cheating on her and dismissed all her accusations as baseless. However, he later confessed to suffering from bipolar affective disorder and conceded that certain aspects of Rossi's account were accurate.
