Because of a cancelled flight, the Hollywood actor had to stay one night in Zurich. This was the Philadelphia-born actor's first visit to this Swiss city, and he Was amazed by one thing.

It’s unclear what Will Smith is doing in Europe in the middle of the summer, but he was supposed to have a layover in Zurich. It didn’t happen for some reason, and the actor stayed the night in Switzerland. Fortunately for him, he didn’t hole up in one of the city's luxury hotels - early in the morning, he went for a walk. Jet lag, perhaps?

He was so impressed with what he saw that he recorded a video and published it on his Instagram account.

Will Smith saw Zurich for the first time, recalled his film

"It’s so quiet," he said with considerable amazement, showing the city's empty streets at 4:30 AM GMT. The silence was broken only by the croak of a crow, which the actor humorously hushed. Smith strolled across one of the bridges on the Limmat River and was surprised by the presence of sleeping swans.

"I’m having flashbacks of 'I Am Legend,'" he admitted, referring to one of his cinematic hits that depicted a post-apocalyptic world after a pandemic. In Zurich, Will Smith might have experienced something scarce: walking down the street undisturbed by anyone.

At one point, he saw something that brought a smile to his face: he couldn’t believe he was seeing real Swiss Army knives, with the iconic logo. "They're real! Can you believe it?" he rejoiced like a child.

Will Smith's career

Will Smith's path to fame began in the music world. Performing as The Fresh Prince, Smith gained popularity on the music scene in the '80s. The real breakthrough came in 1990 when he debuted as an actor in the TV series "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air". The comedy series quickly gained huge popularity and became a cult hit. Smith became an icon of the younger generation, opening his film career doors.

Transition to film and early successes

After finishing "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" in 1996, Smith transitioned to the film industry. His first major success was his appearance in "Independence Day" (1996), which brought him international fame. Another hit was "Men in Black" (1997), which solidified his position in Hollywood.

The actor gained a reputation not only as an excellent comedian but also as an actor capable of attracting a wide audience. He has been nominated for an Oscar three times, the first two for "Ali" and "The Pursuit of Happyness". He won the coveted statue on his third nomination for his role in "King Richard".
