Not only can you craft a delightful cake from simple ingredients that has a unique mandarin twist, but you can also do it without a traditional oven. A normal pan and a mere 20 minutes of effort are all you need, and by the end of the day, you'll have a sweet homemade delicacy for the whole family to enjoy.
My home has fallen in love with this homemade delight featuring mandarins, and I'm sure yours will too
Ingredients:
- 20 grams of butter,
- 50 grams of sugar,
- 2 large mandarins,
- 1 egg,
- 50 grams of sugar,
- 7 tablespoons of oil,
- 70 millilitres of milk,
- 200 grams of wheat flour,
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder,
- powdered sugar for dusting.
Instructions:
Step 1. Start the recipe by whisking the egg and sugar together.
Step 2. Next, incorporate oil and milk into the mixture, followed by baking powder and sifted flour. This ensures the cake will be extra fluffy. Blend the ingredients properly to form a smooth, uniform batter.
Step 3. Prepare the mandarins. After peeling the fruits, place them on a chopping board and halve them.
Step 4. Heat the butter in a well-heated pan. When it's almost melted, sprinkle granulated sugar into the pan.
Step 5. Once the sugar is dissolved, put four mandarin halves into the pan. Their flatter side should be in contact with the pan's surface.
Step 6. Spread the prepared batter over the fruits, cover the pan with a lid and leave it on the hob for 20 minutes.
Step 7. After the cake is cooked, transfer it to a plate and dust it with powdered sugar. Naturally, you can also serve it topped with chocolate sauce or homemade royal icing. Deliciousness awaits, enjoy!
