Unexpected labour at Golden Corral: Woman names baby after the restaurant she gave birth at
Tayvia Woodfork gave birth to a surprise baby. The boy received an original name.
Stories about unexpected births cause great astonishment, not only among women who unexpectedly give birth but also among the public when such situations come to light. Pregnancy symptoms include more than just a growing belly. These days, it seems almost impossible to overlook them.
An unplanned birth raises many concerns: the fact that a doctor didn't monitor the pregnancy, the possibility of alcohol consumption or other substance abuse - there are many complications.
Tayvia Woodfork experienced this firsthand. The 26-year-old unexpectedly went into labour during dinner at a restaurant.
She didn’t know she was pregnant. She gave birth in a restaurant
The 26-year-old was celebrating with loved ones at the Golden Corral restaurant when she suddenly felt severe abdominal pain. The woman went to the restroom. It turned out that the pain she felt was the first contraction. Tayvia Woodfork was at 37 weeks pregnant.
"She was complaining that her stomach hurt," said Tayvia's mum to the "Today" portal. The 26-year-old was in a cryptic pregnancy - she went through it without any typical pregnancy symptoms. The woman emphasised that she didn’t gain weight or feel foetal movements.
Ultimately, medics were called to the woman in labour. Tayvia gave birth to a healthy boy in the restaurant's restroom. When the 26-year-old left the room, people started clapping. They lined up to see the baby, who was given a proud name honouring the restaurant: Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork. The happy grandmother informed them that Golden Corral sent the restaurant a basket of baby items and a gift card.
