Why is it necessary to repot plants in pots?
Potted plants make a beautiful decoration for many flats and homes. Additionally, some plants serve other roles in rooms, such as air purification, hence they're often found not only in living rooms but also in bedrooms and even bathrooms.
In spring, it is crucial to remember to report them. This action stimulates the plant to life and also strengthens it. Furthermore, this allows it to expand its root system, which in turn could accelerate its growth.
But when choosing the size of the new pot, moderate your enthusiasm. It shouldn't be more than two sizes larger. If you ignore this advice, you risk achieving the opposite effect to what you intend.
When is the best time to repot plants in spring?
As the weather improves, we gradually begin to forget the endless winter. But that doesn't mean we should be repotting our potted plants right away. The best time to do this is at the turn of March and April. The reason for this is the longer daylight hours, which supply the plants with a sufficient amount of light. If they're exposed to too little light after repotting, their growth might slow.
One should also take notice of the pot, and more particularly the soil in which our plant is currently growing. If we notice a characteristic lime sediment on it, we can infer that it's high time we repotted our plant.
Let's make sure we choose the right soil. If we can't recall precisely what is needed, we can always refer to the internet. Sales associates in garden centres will also be ready to give advice. Alternatively, we could buy a universal soil which will cater to most plants.
